Blog #3: War of 1812
Using the link provided under Term 2 “Assignments” with the same name, look over the presentation:
1) Who won the War of 1812? Explain.

2) How did the War of 1812 foster feelings of nationalism?
1) In the war of 1812 there were no winners or losers. The British managed to successfully attack and conquer the Americans when they were not expecting it but there was no land gained in this process. The British also had alot more men and more advanced weapon.
2) The feeling of nationalism arose mostly on the side of the Americans. When the Americans won the battle of New Orleans they gained complete control of their country as a whole. After all of this Francis Scott Key saw the flying flag at Fort. McHerny and he was then inspired to write the Star spangled banner and this gave their country hope and pride. Even since then Americans have been proud of their flag and country and this gave them the feelings hope and freedom.
What does it mean to be responsible social networkers???
In order to be a responsible social networker inappropriate language or content should not be uploaded or posted under any circumstances. Also if you post something you must be willing to take responsibility for it because even if it might seem ok to you I might just offend someone else in many different ways. This is because once something is put on or posted on the internet than it can be copied or sent by anyone in many various ways, so you may be able to delete what you put but it will always be on the internet somewhere forever. In addition to this it may also mean that you must be safe whilst using networks such as Facebook, Twitter or MySpace. This basically means that you should not add or talk to anyone that you do not know and don’t share any private or personal information like secrets, phone number or addresses. Think and read everything before you post or write because you do never know who you might offend or who in the world might read it.
